White Sands Mall is the premier shopping
destination and town center for South
Central New Mexico. Located in Alamogordo,
New Mexico, it is a 266,366 square foot
community shopping center. Located alongside
Highways 54/70, the Center enjoys high
tourist traffic from El Paso, Texas, and Las
Cruces, NM, as well as Ruidoso, NM, and
other surrounding communities. The Center is
located in an enviable location, as the
adjacent areas surrounding it are the most
rapidly developing, both residentially and
commercially.
JC Penney’s, Beall’s, and BigKmart anchor
the Center. We have many other national
retailers as well. Cinema 5, Footlocker,
Zales Jewelers, Maurices, Burke’s Outlet,
GNC, Payless Shoes, Sally’s Beauty Supply,
Claire’s Boutique, Coach House Gifts,
Pro-Cuts, H & R Block, and Quiznos. White
Sands Mall also has a strong mix of local
business’s, AB Satellite, LA Nails, JC
Penney Salon, Hometown Sports Cuts, TLC
Portraits, Armed Forces Recruiters, Ken
Caryl Optical, Right-N-The Beans, Juan’s
Cactus Café, Chinese Express, and Pizza
Patio.
Alamogordo is located in the beautiful
Tularosa Basin, which boasts of the White
Sands National Monument, the world’s largest
gypsum dunes in the world; New Mexico’s
oldest zoo; it is the ‘stomping grounds’ of
Billy the Kid, Sheriff Pat Garret, Oliver
Lee, just to name of few of our colorful
early settlers. You can play golf on 10
different courses in a 60mile radius, from
high desert to the beautiful Aspens. One of
the few places you can play golf and ski on
the same day, 20 miles apart!
We are also privileged to have Holloman Air
Force Base 6 miles from town. They are an
integral part of our community. Holloman is
home of the F-117 Fighter Jets, known by the
name “Stealth Fighter”. Soon they will house
the F-22. Holloman Air Force Base hosts the
German Air Force Tactical Training Center.
The German contingency boasts their own
grade school, community center and worship
center. They have successfully become part
of our community. The 46th Test Group is
also part of Holloman Air Force Base. The
longest Test Track of record (10 miles) is
located there, and is operational.
All in all, we are a skilled community, a
